FY 2024-25
OVERVIEW
During the fiscal year (FY) 2024-25 (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025), Jobs for
Youth focused on equitably serving the County of San Mateo’s youth
population ages 14-21. JFY collaborated with all of the public high school
districts in the County, and many community based organizations to reach
as many youth as possible through the JFY career development workshops
(please refer to Section 6 for a comprehensive list of partners for the FY
2024-25). In this report, we take a deep dive into the communities who
were served by the JFY program this past year.
JFY strove to ensure youth across the County had equitable access to the
JFY Al Teglia Scholarship, with the two main requirements being that youth
have attended a JFY career development workshop and that they are
between the ages of 16-21. JFY is proud to share that 20 youth were
successfully awarded the 2025 Al Teglia Scholarship.
Additionally, JFY was able to post 530 career development opportunities
(ie. employment, internships, & volunteer opportunities) to the JFY Job
Board, helping connect youth members to opportunities across the entire
County. The Job Board Page and Al Teglia Scholarship Program are
fundamental components in JFY’s mission of working toward a truly just and
inclusive society for all, by addressing systemic barriers to higher education
and equitable employment opportunities that many youth in the County
and beyond face.
This year, the JFY Summer Internship program was also able to reach new
heights. Please read all about it in Section 3!
JFY is proud of the impact the program has had over the course of the FY
2024-25, and is eager to continue to grow and improve the program’s
services to better support the youth of San Mateo County!
