employees is dismal. Combined with the small supplemental and horrendous vesting schedule
with limited term employees having no job security beyond three years and having the
department need to keep them on for 2.5 to get all of that money, the entire deferred
compensation plan for limited term employees is unacceptable and embarrassing for such a
wealthy county. San Mateo can afford to give its employees better benefits and fully vest
immediately for limited term employees.

62 I recently was using the site after a long abesnce.. the summary reports are not nearly as clear 12/14/2023 5:25 PM
as my other mutual fund/IRA institutions. It is always unclear if the growth is just from my
contributions or from fund growth. it seems intentional to blur this information. It takes a lot of
pecking to see more clearly how the account is doing.

years of service. as such I tend to not think about retirement as it's kinda depressing at this
point. maybe after I get vested, I'll pay more attention to the different retirement options,
including the deferred compensation programs,
